Theatergoers will be transported to a not-too-distant future courtesy of the Deep Dish Theater Company?s production of Alan Ayckbourn?s Henceforward, running April 27 to May 19. This wickedly funny look at love, art, and robots, directed by Artistic Director Paul Frellick, concludes the company?s eleventh season at University Mall.
?Ayckbourn is one of the most brilliant comic mind?s in the history of the theater,? Frellick said, ?and this play shows him at his most ingenious. Technologically and psychologically, this production easily qualifies as our most ambitious ever.?
Jerome is a composer who samples real-life noises to make his music but has struggled to find the right sounds ever since his wife left him, taking their daughter with her. Convinced that only the daughters return can inspire him once more, Jerome concocts a plan to win back custody of the child, enlisting the help of an out-of-work actress and a malfunctioning robot named Nan.
The productions talented cast includes: Alex Anna, Mark Filiaci, Leanne Heintz, Katja Hill, Jon Karnofsky, Gregor McElvogue, Madeline McKinney and Ros Schwartz.
