MCV Jobs Weekly: Microsoft hires, top vacancies

In MCV's weekly?rundown of the hottest vacancies and latest personnel news, we round up the latest Microsoft appointments and look at the best job opportunities.

MICROSOFT RESHUFFLES STUDIOS MANAGEMENT

In case you missed news of Microsoft's new Lift London studio earlier this week, it was accompanied by a couple of key hires and appointments.

Former EA and Activision exec Roger Walkden (pictured on left) has joined Microsoft Studios as Chief of Staff. He will work behind the scenes with all of the company's developers, including Rare, Lionhead and Lift London. You can read the full story here.

Meanwhile, Rare's Scott Henson (pictured on right) has been named as the new head of operations at Fable studio Lionhead. He takes over from Mark Webley, who led the team on an interim basis after the departure of Peter Molyneux. You can find out more here.

FuturLab appoints new head of technology
The award-winning game studio Futurlab have appointed Hussain Sheikh as head of technology.

?I am thrilled to be joining FuturLab as they possess enormous creative energy, and have achieved some great success over the past few years,? said Sheikh.

Sheikh was previously lead visual effects programmer on Split/Second after a period as part of the technology team at Black Rock Studios.

?We?re delighted to announce that Hussain will be joining us immediately, bringing a great deal of experience and leadership to our technical team and his ability to create very pretty visual effects should keep our fans happy too,? added FuturLab?s managing director, James Marsden.

Management shuffle for Inno Games
Hendrik Klindworth, co-founder of online games publisher InnoGames, is becoming CEO as part of a new management structure for the company.

?Our major goal is to maintain the agility of a start-up in a dynamically growing company,? said Klindworth.

?This is a huge challenge and the new management structure shall significantly contribute to mastering it.?

As part of the move former EA Europe boss Gerhard Florin (above, right), who previously held the position of chairman, will now become executive chairman.

Completing the management restructuring are Eike Klindworth the chief creative officer, Michael Zillmer as chief operating officer, Armin Busen as chief financial officer and Volker Dresser as chief marketing officer.

?Now, I am glad to have an even larger advisory influence to the company?s strategic plans in time that is a trendsetting era for the whole online gaming industry,? added Florin.

Tan leaves Bigpoint
Lucianne Tan has left Bigpoint Games after two years with the company. Starting in a marketing role within the company, Tan went on become PR Coordinator based at the company?s San Francisco office, wworked on the likes of Battlestar Galactica Online and is leaving the role to pursue new opportunities in PR.
