SUMMER ROWING CAMPS
We have two types of summer recreational camp - Learn-to-Row and Skill Development - both of which are coached by coaches from our varsity racing team's coaching staff and have an athlete to coach ratio of 10:1 or better! Week-long sessions are available for middle schoolers and for high schoolers.
Learn-to-Row Camps
This camp is for brand-new rowers getting into a shell for the first time. Open to those entering the 6th-11th grades. Athletes will learn the basics of the sport including proper rowing technique, water safety, balance, and boat handling - all while working as part of a team, challenging themselves physically and mentally, and having a lot of fun!
Upon completion of the LTR Camp, rowers are encouraged to continue in the summer Skill Development Camps. In the Fall 6th and 7th grade rowers will continue in the Fall Intramural League. 8th-11th graders will join our other experienced rowers on the Racing Team.

Skill Development Camps
This camp builds the skill and physical fitness of experienced rowers in the 6th-11th grades, maintaining a focus on learning and technical development. Athletes will row in both sculling (2 oars) and sweeps (1 oar) boats. The camp is broken down into two groups - A. for returning experienced rowers, and B. for rowers who have recently completed a Learn-to-Row camp. Rowers from group B will be moved to group A as fast as their skills develop.
