LAS VEGAS ? Authorities say a 37-year-old Florida man is jailed on a murder charge in a fatal one-punch fight that left a Utah man dead inside a Las Vegas Strip casino.
Las Vegas police homicide Lt. Lewis Roberts tells The Associated Press that Benjamin G. Hawkins of Gainesville, Fla., was arrested after the 12:45 a.m. Wednesday slaying at O'Sheas Las Vegas Casino.
The victim's identity wasn't immediately made public. Roberts says he was from Utah. A previous AP report about the home states was incorrect.
Roberts says the two men exchanged words in a restroom shortly before going to a lobby area, where Hawkins is accused of punching the other man.
He says the two men were tourists and didn't know each other before the altercation.
Roberts says police are questioning witnesses and reviewing casino surveillance videotapes to determine what sparked the confrontation.
